My name is Janelle Lucero and I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with my husband. I offer labor support, doula and postpartum doula care, and lactation consulting in all five bureaus.

 

I began attending births in 2009 and have assisted in medicated and non-medicated births in birthing centers, hospitals, and at home as a doula and as a midwife assistant. I have always been fascinated by development and gained an interest in birth while working at a Montessori school in Seattle. A dear friend was pregnant at the time and invited me to be to be a part of her home birth. It was there I discovered my passion for the miracle of birth.

 

I was certified as a DONA doula in 2010 and am preparing to take the IBLCE certification examination this July.  

 

In my free time I love to be outside - running, hiking, and enjoying the beach and the mountains. I love to be active and enjoy yoga, and kickboxing. I love to read, cook, and explore NYC with my husband. I have traveled to many countries on 6 continents and hope to see much more of the world!
